So, according to that last set, the Cardassians *were* shooting back after all... I never noticed that before.

Superb stuff, for a tech freak anyway.

nope, it was just the jem'hadar shooting...the cardie/rommie fleet just stood there stagnant fx-wise while the jemmies flew around. The only cardie ship that really moved was the one going across the bottom right of the screen as the warbird was getting attacked....

When the runabout escapes, two of the Keldons on the background are seen firing yellowish beams across the screen. At least it seems they are firing - if it were the Jemmies firing, the beams would be blue, and there would be an explosion at the impact point.

Pretty feeble going, of course. The battle had raged on for at least five minutes, probably more, at that point...

I remember back then getting videos from my cousins in the 'states and I got a whole spread of DS9 season 3 and season 4 episodes (well the the way of the warrior and the visitor)

I was SO blown away with "Improbable Cause" and then it ends up being a cliff-hanger... and I waited but "The Die Is Cast" wasn't on any of the tapes!! This was before the net was big and stuff... (even later - downloading a whole episode would have been crazy) So I had to settle for the 'next week' preview for like 2 years or so until it came out on video in Australia.

Quite a big gap!! [Smile]

I remember drooling when I could see this ferocious battle that was to come (and like seconds worth) in the preview... and remember how all the DS9 previews were in that 'oval' - with the wormhole effect around the outside.

I played that preview over and over.

Was so good.

OH! After all that rambling - another request for coolness!! The one and only time we see DS9 get destroyed!! "Visionary" - I got that one on tape from the States - my jaw dropped when DS9 when BOOOOM! And the Run-abouts were escaping... very cool. Wasn't there a display of the orbit of the orbiting warbird?

I noticed in one of "the Defiant" collections, there's a shot of the two Rikers on the screen as Odo and Sisko are trying to explain the situation to Dukat. It doesn't look a whole lot like Jonathon Frakes, but the picture of Thomas Riker seems to show him in a DS9 style uniform as opposed to the TNG style. I had never noticed that before.

Timo: Sorry, guess I wasn't paying much attention to that particular scene, I thought you were referring to the one that blew up first thing. It would have been a lot cooler if we say the Rom/Card ships fighting back a little more...but it was, afterall, their first attempt at a mass battle sequence....so its understandable it cant be perfect, it was still damn impressive anyway!

Andrew: Yeah, you could see a warbird on the screen of ds9 firing at the station...as well the display of it orbiting ds9. That is my next goal to tackle. [Smile]

Many thanks again! - by what name would you wish to be credited FG??

And BTW, some of the files seemed to be corrupt and could'nt be inflated, they were DS9-3_The_Die_Is_Cast (62).JPG, and a number of files in DS9-3_The_Die_Is_Cast_8.zip.

Oh, and would it be possible to capture a few images of that mysterious ship wreckage in the Emmisary footage (as being discussed in the Gage thread..) A DVD capture may throw further light on the matter. Cheers.

I think the overhead shot of the Lexington docked at the station is a new fx-shot:

when you talk about the Advisary - don't you mean "The Adversary"?
