So...is that guy in the cloak supposed to be Beachhead? Like Pumpkinhead or Earserhead?

I would have liked to have seen some bad weather gear in the TNG era though, other than the aluminum foil suits that Odo and Quark had to share.
The New one!!!!! finally after 3, billion viewings of the Teaser....

OMG! I've said it before and I'll say it again - the Captain is CRAP. His acting is shocking. His reaction times - the pauses/beats - are just way too long.
ENOUGH!
The Doctor wasn't too good either - like he was reading his lines.
The Science Officer is a more capable actor/character.

Considering its a fan effort, kudos to them.
The guy playing Garovick (just to add to the echo) honks like bad cheese.
I can cope with the doctor having his lines on the desk, as long as they get a transfer at some stage, but asside from the obvious lack of people with acting experience, it was ok.
Lets face it, it was better than some episodes of Voyager.
If they kept it up, it probably has potential, but I think I'll sit on the fence til I see what happens next.

This has been mentioned before, but for this production to become better, the people behind the camera need to stay behind the camera. The fellow playing the captain should realize that his acting and lack of screen presence is hurting the production. The strength of Trek always rests with the performance of the commander.
From a tech point of view, they need some eye lights for close ups and soft focus for the women.

Well, I know for a fact that a one problem they were having is that the sets weren't completely done by the time they needed to shoot, which limited the amount of time that was available to do lighting setups and retakes.
And as to the acting, yeah, in an ideal situation you get actors to act, but this is a fan production with no money to spend on actors. And they weren't able to get as many people with acting experience as they wanted.
Seriously, it's easy to say "they should have done this" or "they should have done that" but reality is that you rarely get to do things the way you want. So...bunt!

You know... the funny thing is... I think that those guys (and gal) from "Night shift" clip sound and act more natural and more believeable than main cast

Okay.. so does that science officer have a psychic link to here instruments, or what? She sure has a lot of info, without EVER looking at her console.
The effects and sets are very convincing, the acting a bit less so. It seems the extras are better than the main cast. And there are some minor pieces of plot that seem a bit strange. Why did no-one even react on Cutty's suggestion of blowing the weapon up? It sounded like a good idea to me...
It's impressive though, what dedicated fans can do today. Those interior shots of the destroyed Kongo were lightyears ahead of TOS

And speaking of looking... At least more fan productions these days ARE setting some standards for the actors to look the part as you'd expect - there are few stereotypical "sweaty round fans" playing lead parts these days. Just watch out for corridor scenes, Admirals, and the occasional ill-fitting uniform...
