True, they may learn something from this. I hope so. It always amazes me how quickly some really innovative series seem to get canceled, while formulaic crap(I'm thinking of Smallville here, though others might disagree) can go on and on peddling the same repetitive rubbish, just because they're safe and inoffensive.
I'll always rate BSG for its quality of production and entertainment rather than its quantity of viwers(of which I have no idea anyway). I suppose I just don't like the idea that those who do pay attention to ratings might see BSG's last season went down in figures, and judge the show on that. But you're right, it doesn't matter what those people think anyway. They really wouldn't be judging the show on what matters.

Yeah I definetly agree the ratings system is a little skewed nowdays and good shows are getting cancelled because of it. Like I would have like to have seen how Odyssey 5 turned out, as I thought that show had promise in it.
Me, being in the UK, I find that I just download the shows I want to watch. Moreso now, I hardly ever watch the TV any more with maybe the soul exception of The Discovery Channels. If there's something I want to watch I just download it, like Heros, Lost, Smallville, Atlantis, BSG, Desperate Housewives (sad I know but I like it ), Weeds. I'm sure there are many people who do the same, that when a new epsiode of a show is released, they download it, rather than wait the x ammount of months to be shown in their country, if they can even get it on their cable sattelite channels.
Hell I think a better Video on Demand system implemented worldwide would help the good shows. That way, when an episode is aired on an American network, it's also put into a worldwide accessable VoD system online, or thorugh other countries cable and satelite networks. That way everyone who wants to see that show, CAN see it. This would also be trackable with ratings. Of course people sill still download eps for free, but it might cut it down to just the hard core downloaders.
Anyways until that day, eMule and TVUnderground are my friends!

(Odyssey 5 was Showtime, though, which is pay cable, which means a different relationship to ratings entirely.)

Well I'm showing my ignorance about why Odyssey 5 was cancelled then. I only watched it about a year ago, so I'd just assumed that it was one of them viewing figure cancellation thingie-me-bobs.
On another note, has anyone noticed that a version of Razor has been leaked, or stolen, or whatever, and put online to download? What happened there, as I thought it wasn't going to be released till the 24th?

Just saw the fifth episode. Surprise, surprise, Adama finds Cylons experimenting on humans in order to develop skinjobs. It was all very reminiscent of that lab scene from Alien Resurrection.
Though now it begs the question of why he never mentions any of this during the show.

Well, in the military, it's customary to not talk about past classified actions. I can easily see the Colonial fleet trying to bury these reports. Also, there's a very big difference between finding a lab with experiments on Human and biological parts, and actually having the Cylons look like Humans. It's not like it's exactly relevant to provide the whole back story, either. At least not in the TV episodes.
It's pretty cool, though, that it turns out the reports from the first flashback episode were correct: the Cylons ARE researching a superweapon.

Well considering that a resurrection bathtub was present, I would think that indicates development of skinjobs.

But would Adama have had any idea what the bathtub was for? It's not like Adama has ever actually seen the rebirthing process.

Actually, if you recall the mini, he catches on to Leoben rather quickly and didn't seam so surprised that he was a cylon, which might indicate some foreknowledge.

Not so much foreknowledge, as maybe confirming some suspicions he'd had following his experience. His whole speech at the decommissioning showed a certain amount of introspection regarding the nature of humanity, so it's not much of a leap from there to "We have met the enemy and they are us, only hotter and with glowing spinal cords."

I dunno if I'd consider Leoben to be "hotter," though.
