Sweet merciful god. Today, at lunch, as I enjoyed a semi-delicious but mostly dull ham sandwich, I watched my mother watching the new version of Press Your Luck on the Gameshow Network. Aha, I said to myself. I bet I could get a good post out of this, assuming the subject ever comes up. Which it never will. Except it has!

Happens to me all the time. I started writing that stuff down, when it happens. I plan on reading the whole list every few months, to see if there is any greater plan to it all...
But that's another thread entirely.
Do they still have the animated whammies?

Live-action Whammies. Large men with no necks in Whammy suits come out from behind the curtain to turn you upside down, shake out all your cash, give you a good roughing up, & then run in back.
Wait, now that sounds like the Japanese version.

Nothing makes a game show more interesting like watching the contestants getting molested by the Whammies.

i have never seen or heard of this show, but i would support a new initiative to have it aired nonstop in place of any other television programming with the exception of pornography, family feud, star trek, the tick, he-man and doctor who

What? You've never heard of Press Your Luck? You're only a little younger than I am and living in the US, and you've never heard of it? Oh, well. It's better than some of the other game shows. I mean Russian Roulette or Friend or Foe? Bad, very bad.

oh my god.. i forgot that my network would also show simpsons and the critic...
best game shows i remember: Fun House (much better than Double Dare); Jeopardy (what, I'm a geek); and The Price is Right.. (only for the extreme cheesiness)
worst game shows: Supermarket Sweep, anything of the current Millionaire-Survivor-Weakest Link era..

Right, well - it's not like this post belongs here anymore or anything, but for everybody's information, #621 is now Professor Chaos and soon to be with status line "Simpsons did it! Simpsons did it!"
You may remember #621 from such earlier handles as Stingray and OnToMars.
This is, for the record, the third time which I have changed my handle and have a pretty decent turnaround time, which should continue. Unless I get tired of the reference faster than I think. In which case, rest assured that my new handle will not have the same initials or phonetic alliteration.
That is all.

CaptainMike brought up "Fun House." He is therefore a genius, and deserves all the woman-love he can, erm, eat.

since you mention it...
i cant find the thread, but a months ago we were discussing girls, drugs and sci-fi; and the question was posed as to whether they could all go together, giving the recipient of the girls, drugs and sci-fi a heightened state of achievement i call 'Nerdvana'..
Wednesday night i saw Attack of the Clones for the first time, with Michelle (and Mary Jane, winkwinknudgenudge). I can honestly say that i achieved Nerdvana. And kissing her was a pleasant distraction from all those annoying scenes where The Boy was talking to The Girl instead of doing stuff or acting well.
