I am in England finally! I got here last night after 11 hours of flight and 5 hours of waiting and commuting and dragging my luggage up the stairs. It actually wasn't that bad except I threw up on the plane and people gave me wrong directions (good thing I asked around some more). The campus is at least twice the size of my US school and very foresty with lots of grass and trees. It's right outside Brighton and surrounded by low hills. My flat is on one of these hills, hence the dragging of luggage. It's a bit of a climb, but at least there's a nice view. The temperature isn't as cold as I thought, and we even had sun today.
I have to go do some shopping now, so more updates later.

Surely this is common practise. If a foreignly accented person comes up to you asking for directions, it's law to send them to the wrong place. It's how they learn not to be different.

Hey! I resent that! I give good directions to anyone who asks - not my fault I can't remember road names . . .

Threw up? Figures. Airplane food is rather disgusting if you ask me.
And how did you end up in Britain anyways?

The real question is when does she plan on making the candlelit pilgrimage to the maternity ward of the Brighton Hospital. They'll put a church there, someday. You wait.

Tahna: I'm doing study abroad for the next six months.
Snay: I went GROCERY shopping, not clothes-type shopping, and only in the little store on campus at that. But I am going with a group into town today to check out the stores and get plates and toiletries. We went to some pubs last night and walked through alleys with very charming stores and restaurants. Mmmm....
Omigod, the weather! It was all green yesterday after I got here. Around 7 am this morning it was snowing when I looked out the window, and everything was WHITE. Then around 11 am the snow all melted and the sun came out and it was all green again. Jesus. It's really gorgeous.

Nope, Britain. Here we enjoy dull mornings, dull afternoons and dark evenings (the latter is pretty definate for anywhere except the poles). We also enjoy rain, rain, rain, rain with wind, flooding, and yet more rain. In other words, you are very luck to have had snow - in a few days you'll have all the shit weather the rest of the UK enjoys! Doesn't that make you feel all warm and special?

I was talking more about the urge to be a Lumperjack than the weather.
