"We are the SECOND largest landmass, you are the FOURTH!"
Perhaps I misread you, but you're talking about Canada and the US? I hate to tell you this, but we're both on the same landmass. And it's the third largest.

If the US didn't do what it did, they'd be extatic! But as minor powers they don't have that option. Russia is the first, Canada second, China third and USA is the fourth in order of landmass, so yeah, we are bigger *G*

He's using Molsonian geographic terms, I think.
If the US contributed its overseas forces into UN-sanctioned operations under the UN flag rather than acting unilaterally and intervening in foreign conflicts as an independent superpower, methinks people would hate the US less, and the US'd be less likely to do selfish badass things.
Unfortunately, whackos in bunkers in Montana and whackos in mental bunkers in Washington seem to think closer involvement with the UN will lead to the insidious influx of international socialism...

Or people would start bitching the U.S. was getting into everyone else's business... Do this, don't do that, nothing changes the fact people will bitch anyways.

If the US became as active in the UN as it could be?
Then these same people would whine that the US was using the UN as its 'bitch' and getting it to serve only US interests.
It's an unwinnable argument, because the other side's concepts are inherently irrational.

The benelux countries have a problem with bureaucracy in the EU, it's kind of the same with the UN. But to even have these kinds of unions between so radically different countries is a pretty good achievement, it's the first time in history.

Methinks that the United States is on too much of a power trip, if they lost theur status as a world power they'd learn a valuable lesson in humility and not be such bitches most of the time.
