Well...I don't know about "road to peace." I mean, Cochrane's postwar goal, namely, building a faster than light drive and reaping the financial rewards, need not have been substantially different from what he was trying to do before the war. Like I said, we really have no idea who was funding or working on the project. Perhaps Cochrane was looking to collect the C Prize. Like the X Prize but for lightspeed, see? SEE?

Because I have been asked about my fonts before, here's a sample of what I use.
There is a nicer shuttle font out there called Swing, but alas, I've as yet been unable to track down a free copy.
