Are there any plans to give Flare an upgrade any time soon? I ask because I would like to request a feature be added that seem to have come to rely on when browsing other boards. I would like to see a button or something added to the forum topic listing that lets you jump immediately to the first unread post. I know we can do that now, but that's after you've already opened the topic, sometimes to the wrong page. (We can also jump to the last post, but how useful is that?) It would only eliminate one click in most cases, but it would make things go much smoother and quicker IMO (especially on my dial-up connection! ).

We appreciate your concern. It is noted and stupid.

The next major upgrade (to the next generation UBB product) will appear here in late March/early April... it should be stable enough by then, at least.
And it'll have the requested feature.

I'd like a feature that flashes a welcome message every time I click to Flare. Something like, "Welcome back, Siegfried. You sexy bitch, you. Grrrr."
Or a pony. A pony is also good.

I actually don't mind avatars, as long as they're limited to a certain size and not animated. I can live without them though, even though I have a really nice one that I use elsewhere.
I don't know if it's some security thing, but is there anyway to change the way that the "pages you've visited" thing works so that when you jump computers it still knows what you looked at? I'm guessing it would involve storing that info with your profile rather than via cookies, or something technical that technical people should know.

Charles is not going to store everything server-side just because you are a lazy bum and cannot be arsed to remember which pages you've already read because you are lazy.

I am still working. We're not being outsourced for another couple of months yet. I am actually at work at the moment. So I win.
