Yeah, and they're all named the same sterile, generic neighborhood names. Most of the subdivisions around my marker are less than five years old. My subdivision (which is about four or five miles southeast of the marker) was the edge of civilization when we moved out here twenty years ago. Now we're considered the nearby suburbs (god bless urban sprawl, apparently). I hate driving in those new subdivisions; I always get lost in them.
If you click "Hybrid" and start scrolling west or south, you'll see this suburban explosion in action. The satellite pictures are about two years old while the street map is pretty current. You'll see a few old farm and ranch pastures that have subdivision maps plopped on top of them. That's what's been built in the past couple years. It's a shame; every year I have to drive further and further out to go cow-tipping.

Hobbes is more inclined towards LOA anyway...

I threw in a photo- just because I had some crazy zodiac thing in there before -and so you can watch the news for my lifeless corpse if this fucking hurricane hits Fort Lauderdale.
On the plus side, lots of wealthy yacht owners are in town to show off their superyachts at the Interntional Boat Show, so there could be some amusing destruction amid, you know, all the death.
Did you know that the Port of Fort Lauderdale harbors many oil tankers, our main electrical and sewer facilities and dozens of gaint oil holding tanks?
We take that whole "putting all your eggs in one basket" thing to an extreme.

Jason, you really might want to consider using a different picture. Posting your Florida driver's license number, date of birth, and address for everyone to see isn't a good idea. I can see you played with the license, but, you know, in case you didn't alter the information on it.
I hope you escape the wrath of Wilma. The good news is that she's continuing to weaken from the monster she was earlier yesterday. I've been watching the models, and they seem to be sliding down the Florida coast. Unfortunately, almost all of Florida is in the cone of probability on the five-day track from the NHC. If it stays on that track (I know, but be optimistic), then Ft. Lauderdale could be in the same position as Houston was with Rita (you'll be on the better side of the storm).
No matter what, though, I'll hope for the best for you. Good luck.

Anyway.. are there really that few continental Europeans on here!?

Jason, thanks for the Licence photo. I know you're a little busy at the moment, life threating hurricane and all, but should the FB come round asking about a hiring of a tank and subsequent 140 counts of auto damage, make them a nice cup of tea and deny everything.
Thanks mate!
