Personally, I think its about time trek had a gay or bisexual main chracter on the show. TOS had a black WOMAN on the bridge, who kissed a WHITE man in a alter episode, conecpts that were really groundbreaking for the 60's. Trek is still trying to be about those ideals, but seems to be failing. Janeway is always braging about the federation's great ideals and high morals, which we rarely see in the show. Its about time trek got up to date with the 21st century and started to live up to its claims of high morals and groudbreaking television.
