Yes!

Who?

--------------------
Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

Isn't that a bit like saying "jazz is going to be in London" or "rock and roll is going to be in London"?

If there are Broadway musicals by those names, then yes.

Shh! Someone'll hear you! Next thing we know, there'll be "Jazz: The Musical." Only it won't have any jazz in it, it'll just be all the usual same shite storylines and music that all West End fucking musicals have.

Ragtime is based on a book of the same name by E.L. Doctorow. It's less about the music than the time period, the American Dream (and its failure), women's freedom, racism, and how people of different social groups affect each other's lives. Don't knock it til you've seen (or heard) it.

By the way, I can definitely do the weekend of March 8. That okay with everybody?

I'm pencilling it in, with one proviso: we're very close to signing the contract on the house, and we may have to rush off to Bristol any weekend now (which could mean that one) 'cause that's where our lawyer is. But that shouldn't stop the rest of you, just go ahead and if we're there we're there, and if we're not it's for a good reason - namely we're considawably - considawably - wicher than yow! 8)

"Jazz: The Musical" would star Scatman Crothers, and be the tale of a lone Porche trying to survive a war against people who aren't "jive". The songs would be funky in the extreme.

I can do the 8 March. Probably. Maybe. 80% sure.

"'Jazz: The Musical' would star Scatman Crothers..."

If, y'know, sixteen-year-dead corpses could act, and stuff.

Pity-inducing aside: The_Who's The_Tommy tech week is presently killing me.

Previous three days and three nights = 42 minutes of natural light exposure and 14.5 hours of sleep. Three more before opening night. I will be shell of myself by then.

Damn you Pete Townsend. Damn you to child-molesting hell.

At least you've found a sufficient amount of flamboyantly gay people to fill out the main cast. That's got to count for something.

We played "Rock and Roll Part II" in the Warmup today, which I think works out to quasi-irony. British paedophile music = teh r0xx0r.

Looks like we might be able to avoid any last-minute dashed to Bristol, and even if we do have to go it's unlikely to be next weekend, so at the moment we're definitely available.

I've moved up slightly from "maybe" to "quite possibly".
